The devo is set-up as so: the plastic rings are cut so that they make one long strip. Then, you attach that to a metal hanger hanging from the ceiling. Underneath the plastic strip, you place a long cookie sheet filled with water. With the lights out, the bottom of the plastic is lit on fire, left for attendees to watch in awe of the flame’s beauty as it burns the plastic and safely drips into the cookie sheet of water...

Week one of VBS―spent in Mora, MN―brought with it some unique opportunities for relational ministry. First of all, my host family was AWESOME! I truly felt like part of the family immediately walking into their house! Even though I didn’t see my host dad much, I bantered with him throughout the week; he has a great sense of humor!
