Matt Aasberg (Hide)

Hometown: Sherwood Park, Alberta

Matt is a recent high school graduate hailing from Sherwood Park, Alberta. He has a passion for music and writing, and is thrilled with the opportunity to share these gifts with others as he does God’s work this year. He likes to spend his time tossing around a football or diving into a good book.
“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8

Jessi Leach (Hide)

Hometown: Tucson, Arizona

Jessi is back to rock out for a second year on Captive Free. She is fun loving and slightly crazy- in a good way. Youth events and vacation bible school make her heart truly happy. Meeting so many people and seeing the way God works through kids lives was a life changing experience. She can’t wait to do it again.
“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2

Justin Longhurst (Hide)

Hometown: Laurel, Maryland

Justin was raised as a Christian, but didn’t really “come to faith” until finding his church at Our Savior Lutheran in 2001. He’s been hooked on Jesus ever since. He knew that he wanted to pursue a life in youth ministry when he went to his first Youth Encounter Quake in 2003, and has since spent his time helping out with his church youth group. He’s real excited to be taking the next step by joining Captive Free and looks forward to all the new opportunities it will bring. In his free time, he enjoys TV, playing video games, and writing.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
