Overflow Hotel Information

Please remember that we will be using two hotels for housing this year in Harrisburg - the main hotel, the Harrisburg Hilton, and the overflow hotel, the Crowne Plaza, which is located one block from the Hilton.  Whenever possible, housing will be assigned based on registration date.  If you would like to request to be housed in the Crowne Plaza, please let Jennifer Miller know by e-mailing her at jenm@youthencounter.org before January 13, 2012.  We will do our best to inform you ahead of time if you are going to be housed in the Crowne Plaza so you can plan accordingly.  Regardless of which hotel you are housed in, please proceed directly to the Hilton upon your arrival for registration on Friday, January 20, 2012.

Adult Leadership Seminar

Youth Encounter would like to invite interested adults to take part in an Adult Leadership Seminar, led by Youth Leadership's Tiger McLuen.  The seminar will be a two part session held on Saturday afternoon of the event.  The cost is included in the price of the event for those adults already registered for the Harrisburg Quake.  For adults in the area who are not registered but who would like to attend the seminar, please contact the Event Director, Jennifer Miller, at jenm@youthencounter.org for more information.  More information on the topic can be found in the "Event Specific Downloads" on the left side of the page.

Harrisburg Parking Options

If you park in the Walnut Street Parking Garage, which is connected to the Hilton, Hilton guests get a discounted rate of $10 per vehicle per night.

Street Parking is free after 5 PM on Friday.

Please be aware - Oversized vehicles will not fit in the parking garage.  If you have a large vehicle, please contact Jennifer ahead of time for options.

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Speaker

Tiger McLuen

Tiger McLuen is the President of Youth Leadership in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Youth Leadership's mission is to "educate, equip and encourage leaders in youth and family ministry."  Tiger is a parent of four children, an instructor of youth ministry at both Bethel and Luther Seminaries in St. Paul, and a former youth pastor.  He also is an author of "The Student Leadership Training Manual for Youth Workers" and numerous articles on youth ministry.   Tiger has been involved in youth ministry for 30 years and enjoys training volunteer and professional youth workers, parents of teenagers and speaking at youth events throughout the country.  When not doing the teaching and training thing--Tiger enjoys movies, boating, spending time with family and riding his motorcycle.

Musicians

Fuller Still

Fuller Still's track record includes shows at outdoor festivals, coffee shops and nightclubs, but their real passion and vision for the future lies in performing at youth events. At events like these, the band is able to relate to young people on both a personal and professional level, first leading them in high-quality, Christ-centered music, and then meeting them face-to-face for a closer experience. When Fuller Still are guests at a youth event, something extraordinary happens: God is glorified, walls come down, and lives begin to change for the better. While self-labeled as "folk-rock," their live performances are genre-bending, energetic and interactive.
